June 8, 2016 – Every Day
“One ought, every day at least, to hear a little song, read a good poem, see a fine picture, and, if it were possible, to speak a few reasonable words. “
Johann Wolfgang Goethe (1749-1832) German writer, statesman
I’d say this is not a bad four-fold goal for every day:
— Listen to or play some music you enjoy.
— Read a poem, or a novel, or an essay, or whatever you like.
— Appreciate some form of art: a photo, a picture, a film, a play, etc.
— And if possible, share some meaningful words.
I would not be surprised if you already do these things every day. Making them conscious choices might enrich and deepen your experience.
Start today – the four-fold goal:
Listen to, Read, Look at, Speak with.
Music, Poetry, Art, Conversation.
